Meet Reed: Rooted in Agriculture. Driven by Growth.

Raised in northeast Iowa, Reed Dinsdale grew up surrounded by agriculture. After earning his degree in business administration, Reed began his career in the seed industry with Pioneer Hi-Bred before joining Bratney.

Today, after 12 years with Bratney, Reed has grown alongside the company and taken on increasingly broad leadership responsibilities. As Bratney’s Proprietary Product Line Manager, he helps lead the strategy and development of Bratney’s proprietary equipment portfolio while working closely with the company’s sales teams, customers and global manufacturing partners.

Reed’s experience has given him the opportunity to work across nearly every stage of a project, from understanding a customer's operation and developing the right equipment solution to supporting sales strategy, supplier relationships, project execution and long-term customer success.

He sees one of Bratney’s greatest strengths as its ability to combine world-class equipment technologies with engineering, construction and in-house service capabilities. That combination allows Bratney to serve customers ranging from family-owned businesses to some of the largest agricultural and food-processing companies in the world.

Let’s get to know him a little better.

In Reeds words

How did your background prepare you for your career at Bratney?

Growing up in northeast Iowa and beginning my career in the seed industry with Pioneer Hi-Bred gave me a strong understanding of the industries and customers we serve today.

More importantly, I learned early in my career that success in this business is about more than products and equipment. Relationships matter. Earning trust and learning how to work effectively with customers, coworkers and industry partners has shaped how I approach my work throughout my career.

Over my 12 years at Bratney, my responsibilities have continued to grow and change. I have had the opportunity to work with customers, equipment manufacturers and our internal teams across sales, operations, product management and project execution. Those experiences, and the relationships built along the way, have given me a much broader understanding of our customers' businesses and how Bratney can create value for them.

What makes Bratney special?

Our ability to bring a lot of capabilities together for the customer.

We represent some of the best equipment manufacturers in the world, but we also have the engineering, construction and service capabilities to turn individual pieces of equipment into complete solutions.

Just as important are the relationships we build. Many of our customers and manufacturing partners have worked with Bratney for decades. Those relationships are built by delivering results and continuing to support customers long after the initial project is complete.

How does Bratney help customers succeed?

We try to understand what the customer is ultimately trying to accomplish rather than simply selling them a piece of equipment.

That might mean improving product quality, increasing capacity, modernizing an existing process or facility or developing an entirely new processing operation.

Our job is to bring together the right technology, people and expertise to develop a solution that creates long-term value for the customer.

What motivates you in your work?

I enjoy building things, whether that's a customer relationship, a new market, an equipment offering or a team.

What motivates me most is continuing to find opportunities for us to grow. We have tremendous capabilities as a company, strong manufacturing partners and talented people. I enjoy connecting those pieces and figuring out how we can create more value for our customers and continue building the business.

I am proud of what I have been able to be part of during my first 12 years here, but I am even more interested in what we can build next.

When you're not working…

My wife and I have two boys who keep us busy. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, hunting, going to the lake and taking ski trips to Colorado.
