Job Details
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for achieving the company’s annual sales targets. This Des Moines, IA based role drives results by effectively leveraging the resources and talents of the Bratney sales organization to maximize lead generation and convert opportunities into revenue. This includes working together with Bratney’s in-house product specialist teams and our Europe-based exclusive equipment manufacturing partners to ensure alignment between Bratney and the production goals of its proprietary partners, as well as driving construction and engineering sales by generating new qualified project opportunities through existing sales channels and new strategic corporate customer relationships.
In addition, this position oversees marketing strategy and execution, ensuring alignment between marketing initiatives and sales objectives to drive pipeline growth and brand visibility.
The Director will foster a culture of collaboration and personal and professional growth while ensuring adherence to a defined sales process, and will hold team members accountable for meeting individual sales goals and performance objectives.

- Lead and align cross-functional sales teams to ensure strong collaboration, clear communication, and effective prioritization of human and capital resources.
- Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, increase lead generation, and improve opportunity conversion rates while maintaining good P&L discipline to ensure profitability.
- Establish sales strategy and annual goals by territory, region, and product line, incorporating insights from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure timely responsiveness, coordinated efforts, and a culture of shared accountability across the sales organization.
- Oversee organizational structure, talent development, and succession planning to ensure the right people are in the right roles, with a strong focus on training and growth.
- Design and manage sales territories to ensure adequate market coverage across all strategic geographic regions.
- Identify and address operational challenges, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies across sales and marketing functions, implementing solutions to improve performance.
- Develop and lead Bratney’s brand development strategy to ensure Bratney’s positive reputation and full range of products and services are communicated effectively to existing and new customer markets.
- Ensure all sales and marketing activities are executed in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• PC proficiency including Excel, HubSpot (or equivalent CRM), and Outlook.
• Experience in long-lead-time sales of capital equipment and/or business to business sales.
• Background in Construction Sales and/or development of key corporate customer relationships resulting in large project sales.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, problem solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with high degree of initiative.
• Ability to travel, including some overnight travel, up to 30%.
• Experience managing sales professionals and driving results.
• Experience working with established brands and developing marketing and sales growth strategies to increase brand reach into new markets and geographies.
• Demonstrated success in managing cross-discipline teams and aligning individual team members and external stakeholders around a shared goal.
• Experience working with international manufacturers/suppliers/stakeholders.
Education
• BA/BS degree preferred in business, sales/marketing or equivalent degree.
• Minimum 7-10 years sales management experience. Personal or professional background in agriculture, seed, grain, milling, food production, packaging or consumer products industry is a plus.
